3DEXPERIENCE Forum Asia Pacific South 2019 - Playground Zones

In 2018, Dassault Systèmes signed a landmark strategic partnership with Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) to deploy its technologies in digital projects that will drive the government’s Thailand 4.0 vision.

In continued support of the Kingdom’s Thailand 4.0 aspiration, Dassault Systèmes’ annual 3DEXPERIENCE Forum Asia Pacific South 2019 will be held in the city of Bangkok on March 21, 2019, at The Athenee Hotel, in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society.

We will be showcasing Dassault Systèmes’ transformative technologies through FIVE immersive exhibition zones at the 3DEXPERIENCE Playground, which will focus on key areas that are the supporting pillars of Thailand’s 4.0 model – Manufacturing, Transportation & Mobility, Oil & Gas, Smart Cities, Small Medium Enterprises.

3DEXPERIENCity Zone

As part of the “Thailand 4.0” plan to transform the country into a digitally powered economy, the Thai government has set the target to develop 100 smart cities within two decades (reference: “Thailand 4.0: The Smart Grid Project” – OpenGov Asia, July 20, 2018). The government has established the National Smart City Committee and invited various agencies and experts to join, including depa, the primary agency which is in charge of initiating the project under the government’s digital economy roadmap.

At the 3DEXPERIENCE Forum, Dassault Systèmes will showcase its 3DEXPERIENCity industry solution which leverages the power of Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform to bring together a wide range of territorial data with industry-leading analytical, modeling, simulation and lifecycle management capabilities. 3DEXPERIENCity uses a data-rich semantic 3D model to enable ‘what if’ scenario planning to test new projects and support research into optimized solutions for urban and infrastructure planning, logistics and territorial management, and environmental adaption.

During the Forum, Dassault Systèmes will feature “Virtual Rennes”, an accurate and reliable 3D virtual equivalent of the city of Rennes, the capital of France’s Brittany region, which is utilising the 3DEXPERIENCity industry solution to improve quality of life for its citizens.

With “Virtual Rennes”, city officials, residents, businesses, development partners, service providers and others can simulate, virtually experience and visualize a holistic view of the city’s evolution, and collaborate on sustainable urban solutions that will tackle new societal and urban challenges.

Oil & Gas Zone

During the Forum, Dassault Systèmes will feature a dedicated Oil & Gas Zone with FIVE pods showcasing industry solutions that will help Oil & Gas companies increase value through improved operational efficiency and sustainability. We will have technical experts stationed at each pod for demonstrations of these solutions.

POD 1: Engineering Excellence

Capital facilities engineering in the Oil & Gas industry involves many stakeholders from various disciplines, often working in siloes, which leads to a lack of consistency and efficiency throughout projects and assets. Dassault Systemes’ “Engineering Excellence” industry solution, powered by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, integrates data and business processes across projects and assets, providing Oil & Gas plant operators with a unified environment to efficiently achieve ‘zero-defect’ engineering.

POD 2: QUINTIQ Integrated Planning System

Dassault Systèmes’ QUINTIQ Integrated Planning System for oil refineries enables simulation and optimization of oil refining processes to better predict total processing time; simulation of production cut-back scenarios to better prepare for potential disruptions, such as possible equipment failure; and adjustment of process facility schedules in real-time to accommodate for capacity constraints, as and when they arise. In addition, the solution can generate plans over varying periods, from multi-year investment planning, monthly supply and production planning, to daily production scheduling.

POD 3: Facility Inspection Experience

Termed the “Hololens Facility Inspection Experience”, this pod illustrates a scenario where an Oil & Gas plant operator inspects pipes and a pump through 3D virtual simulation. Discover how the “Hololens” augmented reality headset allows operators to “see through” floors and walls to inspect pipes (underneath a floor) and pumps (inside a wall).

POD 4: Unified Oilfield Management

Dassault Systèmes “Unified Oilfield Management” industry solution offers an integrated approach to Field Development Planning (FDP) by mapping out all Oil & Gas field information and real-time data in the 3D virtual environment. This solution can provide Oil & Gas businesses with a deeper understanding of potential asset performance earlier in the FDP process and to unlock the inherent value of Oil & Gas field assets.

POD 5: Virtual Plant Model Experience

Immerse yourself in a 3DEXPERIENCE Twin 3D virtual replica of an Oil & Gas plant mapped to its physical assets. With this 3DEXPERIENCE Twin, the plant operator utilises 3D simulation tools to test out various scenarios of maintenance procedures. This can help field operators to develop efficient methods of troubleshooting and responding to plant upsets and emergencies.

Transportation & Mobility Zone

For more than 30 years, Dassault Systèmes’ has been the trusted partner to leading companies in the Transportation & Mobility sector with industry solutions in end-to-end vehicle development processes. Some of Dassault Systèmes’ key customers in the sector include Toyota, Honda and Nissan.

During the Forum, Dassault Systèmes will feature a dedicated Transportation & Mobility Zone that will showcase best-in-class solutions and best practices on topics such as additive manufacturing, digital continuity, and systems engineering in the sector through the following exhibits:

Electric Vehicles (EVs): How can we perform modelling and simulation to optimize better performance along with the calculation of electrical performance, thermal behavior and vehicle integration studies of battery and all external environment and usages.
