Dassault Systèmes demonstrated how government agencies, cities and research centers worldwide can harness the capabilities of virtual twins to co-create livable and resilient cities at the recently concluded World Cities Summit.
The company showcased how by creating a dynamic virtual twin of a city, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform can support collaboration across public agencies with data-driven insights and enable in-depth analyses for informed decision making. With 3D modelling of cities, users are empowered to anticipate risks such as natural disasters, and plan mid- to long-term projects such as city expansion while simulating different scenarios.
The UN estimates that nearly 7 in 10 people are expected to live in cities by 2050, with close to 90 percent of the increase happening in Asia and Africa. Themed “Liveable & Sustainable Cities: Emerging Stronger”, this year’s World Cities Summit aimed to dive deeper into the challenges of building future resilient cities and the innovations that can help sustainable urban planning.
At the event, Jacques Beltran, Vice President, Cities & Public Services Industry, Dassault Systèmes, shared key success factors for virtual twin projects. Demonstrating how the 3DEXPERIENCE platform drives a holistic and systemic approach to urban planning and collaboration, Beltran shared insights on how cities have successfully achieved digital transformation, as well as met sustainability objectives through the adoption of virtual twin technologies
