We are delighted to let you know that Saša Ćuković (@Saša Ćuković) has joined the CATIA Champions Program at the end of last year. Dr Saša Ćuković is a Scientific Associate at the Institute for Information Technologies at University of Kragujevac, Serbia. Currently he is involved in the research project “Application of Biomedical Engineering in Pre-clinical and Clinical Practice” (III41007) financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Republic of Serbia. He was a Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship holder at ETH Zurich, DAAD grant holder at Technical University of Munich (Germany), and OeAD grant holder at TU Graz and MedUni Vienna (Austria) working on non-invasive diagnosis of spinal deformities.

About Saša Ćuković

Saša main research interests include CAD/CAM systems, reverse engineering and noninvasive 3D reconstruction and modeling in engineering and medicine, augmented reality and computer vision. He authored/co-authored 4 books and more than 70 papers. He stated to use CATIA during his high and higher education and it followed him throughout all his education including doctorate and post-doctorate. This year is exactly 20 years of an amazing experience and great projects he did using various CATIA modules, from Part Design to VBA programing and Reverse Engineering.

He developed a YT channel for the basic course and first Augmented reality book in Serbia on CAD/CAM topic and again CATIA was a primary CAD/CAM software presented there. Also, he initiated and published few course books using CATIA for BSc and MSc students. Thank to his systematic approach in CAD/CAM teaching he attracted a collaboration with a few teams from Singapore University of Technology and Design, Technical University of Munich, Polytechnic Institute of Bari, Politehnica of Bucharest, Lucian Blaga University o Sibiu, etc.

At the ESB16 congress in Lyon, he won the “1st prize MIMICS INNOVATION AWARD” for the EMEA region for the high quality, cutting-edge research results presented in my PhD thesis – a clear recognition in the scientific community. In February this year he received prestigious Marie Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) grant for postdoctoral research fellowship at ETH Zurich (Switzerland).
