DELMIA Communities Week in Review for March 22

Hello and Welcome to the Week in Review!

This is the weekly blog post that will give a one-look overview of what happened in the DELMIA Communities this past week. But there is a lot more than what you will see below. Visit the communities to see the exchange of information and ideas between members and DELMIA experts. With eight active communities, you are sure to find at least one to suit your DELMIA interests. Collaborative Lean Operations

How does DELMIA support Lean Transformation?

If we agree that Lean Management is not a new system to operate companies, but the evolution of several production systems within the history (starting with Taylor, then Ford, Taishi Ohno and more…), I think we can simply consider digitalization as one of the consequences of those improvements and just think how it can support this continuous evolution. Discover the rest of the post in the community.

Lifting rules intro

Safety is the #1 top priority of lean management. And lifting is one of important safety topics closely linked to plant daily operations. Here is a short video for introducing the concept of the lifting rules. Go to the community to see the video.

Here is a complete demo of the DS solution for Virtual Commissioning in the Aerospace industry (robotized drilling riveting workcell). There are 4 steps in the demo: Click to watch!

[On-Demand Webcast] Manufacturing Excellence through Virtual Factory Replication

Computer-aided design and manufacturing enable designers to develop digital objects, create virtual factories to produce them and run simulations to see how the plant would work in the real world. Once the factory goes into operation, the simulation tool is put away. But what if data from the real factory could be fed…. visit to access the link.

Fabrication Community

Too large variation angle during 5x Machine simulation

In the following record, too large variation angle was occurred during 5x machine simulation (DMU65 – table-table). Despite the correct setup of the kinematics checking inside the part operation and MO (see the captures), the result of multi axis flank operation was wrong, unusable and some collisions were detected. Visit the community to find the solution.

If you want to learn about DELMIA brand capabilities for machining, watch Mike and Jeremy

It was live, but you can visit the community to watch the replay.

Process #4: Grasp closure

This final process consists of closing the fingers on the object while keeping the hand position and orientation obtained during the previous process. The closure is done by simultaneously moving the 23 DOF of the hand from an opened configuration to a closed configuration. Get the rest of the information in the community.
