DELMIA Quintiq World Tour 2019 — Planning in a Disruptive World

We’re living in a period of rapid change. Organizations are racing to deliver products, services and experiences at cheaper costs, faster speeds and simpler processes. Consumers are demanding for more sustainable products, less packaging and customized experiences. Every new demand brings a new challenge and potential disruption. In an increasingly digitalized world, how can you improve value chains to compete with other markets and meet the rising expectations of savvier customers?

This was the focus of the sixth DELMIA Quintiq World Tour Series, which covered five locations around the world: Abu Dhabi, Melbourne, Philadelphia, Barcelona and Moscow. The 2019 events were tailored to meet the demands of our customers and prospects within the regions. Each World Tour differed in format, from small roundtable sessions to large forums.

Through our regionally-focused events, guests gained thought leadership and valuable insights from DELMIA Quintiq customers and industry experts. They also had the opportunity to network with their peers, DELMIA Quintiq specialists and Dassault Systèmes leadership.

Our first stop was Abu Dhabi, in March. We returned to the Westin Golf & Spa Resort where we hosted a delicious al fresco dinner for our guests the night before the event. The day itself was full of insightful presentations that focused on oil and gas, metals, aviation and logistics. Leading DELMIA Quintiq customers, Southwest Airlines, Hulamin, Slovenian Steel Group and Petronas, also presented at the event.

Our second stop was Australia, in August, where we focused on the food and beverage industry. In a more intimate gathering at The Langham, Melbourne, we welcomed the Australian Food & Grocery Council and Australia’s largest retailer, Woolworths. We concluded the day with a roundtable discussion that included industry experts from Dassault Systèmes and the DELMIA Innovation Centre.

The Ritz-Carlton in Philadelphia was our next stop, where the World Tour event was preceded by the North American Customer Council meeting and a networking dinner at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse. We were pleased to welcome supply chain expert Steve Tracey from Penn State University and our customers Kraft-Heinz, Novelis Brazil, Boeing and Southwest Airlines.

We then moved over to Barcelona for this year’s European event. Pre-event networking included a delectable dinner as well as a private tour and lightshow at Casa Mila, one of Gaudi’s most iconic buildings. Paulig, Italo-NTV, Kraft-Heinz, Slovenian Steel Group, Hulamin and SBB Swiss Railways joined us for the main event, providing a truly cross-industry experience for all attendees. Renowned sustainability expert Wayne Visser addressed one of today’s hottest challenges by sharing valuable insights before participating in our panel discussion.

We brought this year’s World Tour to a close in Moscow, where we focused on the metals and oil and gas industries. Despite the freezing temperature outside, our guests were warmly welcomed at the Ritz-Carlton Moscow, and were joined by our customers Sibur, Viva Energy and Metalloinvest.

We thank all the speakers who graciously dedicated their time and efforts to prepare for, travel to and present at our events. Special thanks go to our industry and subject matter experts as well as our customers: Samantha Blake, Ben Dobson, Bryan Sharkey, Gerrard de Wet, Vladimir Arshinov, Armi Faizal, Jesse Moya, Steve Tracey, Doug Genord, Sylvia Sanchez, Davide di Nocera, Juho Ojajärvi, Fawaz Baroud, Henk Jan Rijkse, Wayne Visser, Rene Moraske, Ilja Popok, Lyana Barahoeva, Lubomir Lozanov and Felix Ohle.

Thank you also to those of you who were able to join us at one of our events this year — we hope you enjoyed it and found it valuable. We look forward to seeing you again in 2020.
