DELMIA Transformation Journey Notes 3

This blog is based on a series of podcasts that discuss enterprise transformation called the “Transformation Journey: Research Note Series.”

Our latest podcast on the Transformation Journey Note Series continues with Note #3 | Key Considerations in Planning and Executing Your Transformation Journey. It features Eric Green, Vice President, DELMIA and Fred Thomas, Strategic Business Development and Marketing Director at DELMIA.

In the 3rd Research Note, we go beyond digital technologies and maturity to outline the key considerations in planning your transformation journey. The duo deep dive into the difficulties of transforming manufacturing and how to address some of the challenges. “Transformation” refers to more than a digitalization of manufacturing. It goes well beyond that and in fact, refers to the transformation of the business.

Eric and Fred chat about how the biggest opportunity for improvement may be to look at cross-functional business processes. But, how to do this? In order for a company to make their transformation successful, they need to review some keys considerations, such as:

  • Is transformation still a priority in this “new normal”?
  • Are all transformation initiatives created equally?
  • How should payback be measured?
  • Is transformation a top-down corporate initiative?
  • Is there a special governance model required?
  • Is transformation a program?
  • Is transformation about technology primarily?
  • When it comes to transformation, is technology king of the roost?
