How do manufacturers manage a complex multi-product plant?
How can companies overcome the bullwhip effect – a natural inefficiency that magnifies small increases in order to size all the way down the supply chain?
Are there ways for companies operating at maximum capacity to speed up on delivery?
Join us at the DELMIA Quintiq World Tour event themed ‘Smart Planning, Smart Business’ in Istanbul on November 6, 2014. The panel of experts at the event will answer questions like these and more, offering you valuable insights into proven solutions to overcome supply chain challenges.
The key to overcoming these challenges is smart planning
Smart planning is about providing support to companies and helping them make decisions that are aligned with their KPIs despite an ever-changing environment. With smart planning, planners are able to see the effects of each decision before it is put into action. This empowers them to create optimal plans that will improve efficiency and capacity management.
Join us at our Istanbul event and listen to leading industry experts share their knowledge on smarter planning strategies.
Learn how leaders are planning for the future
I am delighted to be delivering the welcome address at World Tour Istanbul. It is exciting to know that technology innovation has enabled businesses to increase output, as well as improve delivery performance and reduce inventory. I will be sharing examples of customers who are using smart planning to optimize processes, so that you will be able to unlock the extra capacity hidden in your business too.
The first speaker of the day is Professor Mehmet Tanyas, head of international trade and logistics management at Maltepe University. Professor Tanyas will explain his research on the role of optimization in supply chain management. He will also discuss the merits of the green supply chain and the bullwhip effect as we head into a period of downward growth.

The next speaker is Lydia Gertenbach, production planning manager at Hulamin. She will talk about how Hulamin is addressing changing customer demands and the need for increased flexibility, while remaining competitive. A long-standing DELMIA Quintiq customer, Hulamin has recently chosen the DELMIA Quintiq software platform to optimize scheduling and sync production and planning for the entire supply chain across their hot-rolling, cold-rolling, and finishing facilities. The project, which went live in September this year, added scheduling capabilities that enabled Hulamin to improve delivery performance and work-in-progress control, as well as increase supply chain visibility and KPI scheduling.
Following Lydia Gertenbach is a presentation by Haluk Hizlalp, director of IT & strategic projects at denim producer ISKO. He will share his story of optimizing the company’s production supply chain process for the delivery of 250 million meters of fabric per year, and provide insights into delivering the right product, at the right time, at the highest quality.
The DELMIA Quintiq World Tour events are designed to bring supply chain and planning professionals together to drive productive conversation and knowledge sharing.
