Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori, or better known as NTV, is a familiar name in Europe.
They are Italy’s first privately owned high-speed rail operator and one of their founders is the former president of Ferrari, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo. You will recognize their iconic red high-speed trains called the Italo.
But there’s more to this Italian company. Here are five interesting facts you may not know about NTV.
1. NTV’s trains are built from 98% recyclable materials and use 10% less energy per passenger compared to a conventional train.
2. The name Italo was chosen through an online survey which gathered 37,000 votes.
3. The logo, which appears on the Italo trains, is a stylized rabbit. It represents a fast, agile and fun spirit.
4. NTV staff are trained and certified to respond promptly and correctly to any emergency situation.
