GEOVIA recently hosted the first quarterly Virtual Champions Meeting, one of the activities that we provide to our Champions to foster the sharing of knowledge and expertise.
What is the Quarterly Virtual Champions Meeting?
Our Quarterly Virtual Champions Meeting is a discussion around a specific topic of interest facilitated by a GEOVIA expert. These topics are chosen based on each Champion’s area of interest. These discussions are meant to be informal and meant to be structured as a conversation where our Champions can contribute their thoughts, ideas, and questions. It is a way to foster the sharing of knowledge, have access to expertise, and build a sense of community among our Champions.
What did our first meeting consist of?
The topic of our first meeting was Block Modelling and was led by Claver Gnamien, one of our Mining Consultants based in Perth. In terms of preparation, Claver created a brief PowerPoint on the latest Block Model enhancements in Surpac and we also asked the Champions beforehand for any questions that we could answer during the discussion.
How did it go?
It was great to see the passion that our Champions spoke with as they contributed their thoughts. It was quite an interactive session as our Champions began jumping into the conversation to ask questions or answered the questions of other Champions. This is crucial as it is part of the Program’s biggest goal: the sharing of knowledge. Great questions and points were raised by the Champions which resulted in a fruitful discussion. Some of the points raised were also forwarded to the R&D team as we value your input.
Our aim was to provide value for our Champions which was validated by several positive remarks, specifically a Champion who said that this opportunity to interact with other knowledgeable users was extremely helpful for him and hope that we continue providing these in the future.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience for both parties and we are excited to host it again in the next quarter!
