We have released a Dump Scheduling and Haulage Planning Module, as part of our Minex application designed to help mine planners address the largest cost factor for mining operations—the removal and haulage of waste. To help maximize your productivity, we’ll discuss how to create a truck library and how to add a new truck into the library.
Before we begin, I’d like to point out that in the open pit dump planning scenario manager there is a tab that selects trucks and includes a rimpull data table. This allows you to choose the truck type and populate the rimpull table. For example, with a set of .xml documents, you can edit, customise, save and rename your trucks. This saves time by selecting your own trucks from the library for future scenarios and eliminates the need to retype data into the table, copy and rename the original scenario (outside of Minex), and/or edit everything in Minex to create a new scenario.
When it comes to creating your own truck library, the process is simple. Just follow these steps.
- Go to C: Users > Public > GEOVIA > GEOVIA Minex > 631 > shared > etc. > trucks
- The Minex truck library is visible.
- In your text editor, open the file whose parameters most closely match the truck(s) you want to add to the library.
- Edit the file and save it with a new name, with the .xml extension.
- Make sure you save the new file in the trucks folder.
Once you have created the truck library, there are three ways to add new trucks:
- On the Scenario Manager, click Add Truck(s) from Library.
- Select the truck(s) you want to import, and click OK.
- Fill in the Equipment Parameters for the truck(s), and edit the rimpull and retard data if required.
- Click Save.
Manually
- On the Fleet tab of the Scenario Manager, click Add New.
- Select the Truck option, type a name for the truck, and click OK.
- On the Scenario Manager, fill in the Equipment Parameters and Rimpull and Retard Data.
- Click Save.
- On the Fleet tab of the Scenario Manager, click Add New.
- Select the Truck option, type a name for the truck, and click OK.
- Fill in the Equipment Parameters section.
- Click Import Rimpull.
- Locate your existing .xml file and import.
- Click Save.
