We are offering the GEOVIA Whittle Strategic Mine Planning course at our office in Kolkata from July 30 to August 1, 2018.
This course will be delivered by Mr. Ralph Smith, GEOVIA Services Director (Asia-Pacific), Centre of Excellence at Dassault Systèmes. Mr Smith has extensive and diverse consultancy experience in base & precious metals, industrial minerals and quarrying. Over the past 15 years he has provided mine planning services to major mining organisations and small exploration groups in developing viable projects. Before entering the mining services sector Ralph gained valuable operation exposure working underground in base metal operations.
This course is designed to develop an understanding of the principles of strategic mine planning and practical application. At the completion of the course, you will have been exposed to the following topics and concepts:
- Import a model file and complete an optimization using cost and price information
- Analyze the results of a series of optimizations using economic analysis techniques, including Net Present Value (NPV)
- Use different techniques to apply costs
- Produce a long-term mine schedule using different
- techniques available in Whittle Knowledge of the concepts behind strategic mine planning
- Knowledge of the theory of pit optimization
