Dassault Systèmes recently held Science in the Age of Experience for the second year running in Chicago, our biggest scientific event of the year consisting of content from GEOVIA and our sister brands SIMULIA and BIOVIA.
Industry experts from around the world gathered at McCormick Conference Center over three days, with a total of 550 attendees from backgrounds as diverse as business executives, scientists, engineers, software users and other thought leaders.
During the event, GEOVIA showcased themes around the scientific value we can provide to the mining industry. The first day saw Raoul Jacquand, GEOVIA CEO, presenting the GEOVIA vision alongside his counterparts from SIMULIA and BIOVIA and our contribution to the Dassault Systèmes’ purpose of harmonizing product, nature and life.
Gustavo Pilger, GEOVIA Technology Director, also participated in a panel discussion on thinking holistically instead of operating in silos.
The three-day event was packed with sessions covering additive manufacturing, simulation, medical devices and geoscience. The GEOVIA breakout session focused on geological modeling, image analytics, the Internet of Things and mining, new urban approaches for cities and more.
The 3D Playground showcased many demos, including the Virtual Experience Mine where attendees discovered the potential of virtual reality and got a taste of new technologies applied to the world of mining.
All in all, it was a great event meeting our users in North America, participating in lively, thought provoking panel discussions and showcasing broader Dassault Systèmes capabilities.
Science in the Age of Experience event will return next year and we hope to see you in Boston in the spring of 2018!
