It’s Tip Tuesday! Today’s post comes from Ross Pemberton, one of our Knowledge Consultants.
Presenting 3D models of your mine plans or geology and delivering that content in an easily distributable format can be challenging. With 3DVIA Composer, a presentation and visualization software which connects directly to GEOVIA Surpac™, you can produce high quality 3D content, and freely distribute it for public consultations, investor presentations or management meetings. Its MS Office® connectivity makes embedding your geological model or mine plan that much easier! With a variety of outputs, your 3D content can easily be shared with and emailed to colleagues. And, due to the automated installation and animations, technical knowledge on behalf of the recipient is not required.
To export a Surpac Solids/Surfaces model, follow these instructions:
1. Open Surpac and display your model in the graphics window.
2. Go to File > Export > Export to 3DVIA Composer.
3. This saves a *.wrl file, which can be directly opened into 3DVIA Composer.
4. Once inside 3DVIA Composer, various renders, rotations and fly-throughs can be recorded in an animation.
5. To export the model and animation, simply go to File > Save as > Package. This will produce an executable (*.exe) playable on any machine with an internet connection. By double clicking this file, the 3DVIA Composer Player will automatically install and run.
Now, you are ready to show or share your work with everyone, regardless of whether or not they have a GEOVIA product.
