How to use Pie Chart Display for Rock Type in GEOVIA PCBC

Having a graphical display when analyzing geological observations can be very useful in finding trends and understanding material flow.

Today’s tip will outline how to use a pie chart to display multiple rock types.

The images below show a plan view of a pie chart display.

The example below will demonstrate how to generate the display.

First, make sure that the rock types within the bucket add up to 100% for the pie chart display to work.

Select all draw points in graphics.

Setup the colour profile for the rock types by selecting Profile>Other Profiles> Colour.

Go to PCBC display tab on the project view area. Select the Pie Chart tab.

Select the name of bucket workspace where rock type data is stored.

Select rock type fields from workspace to be displayed.

Select colour display profile and size of radius for pie cart symbol.

Use the Previous and Next buttons to move to different buckets. The Clear button can be used to Unload the bucket.

To see field information of the draw points, select the tick box “Use mouse to view bucket detail of draw point.”
