It’s Tip Tuesday! Today’s post comes from our GEOVIA InSite™ Product Manager, Lisa Duncan.
Mining organisations require a means to quickly view and review the progress of current mining activities. InSite’s Production Progress feature provides a visual summary of all past and current production activities. All mining activities can be viewed, modified or deleted, as required, providing greater flexibility and operational visibility.
InSite users are initially presented with a view of the current shift; however, it is simple to select a previous shift via filters at the top of the screen. Once the time period is chosen, you can filter by equipment or employee by selecting one of the tabs near the top of the screen.
In the employee tab, a breakdown of all onsite employee activities is displayed. Each activity is colour coded and the length of the activity is displayed. Similarly, the equipment tab provides the same breakdown of activity by colour. The above screen displays an accurate summary of the progress of all activities as the data is captured. For example, if there is near real-time integration with fleet management, the progress data will be displayed immediately after the source data has been acquired by InSite. Alternatively, if the data is entered manually, it will display once it is entered.
It is possible to change virtually any reference data associated with an activity. For example, if an employee took a lunch break, but the data indicates the employee worked through lunch, this can be corrected by selecting the activity and modifying the data via the fields on the right side of the screen.
This feature provides a fast way to visualise the production, and modify data when necessary. Production Progress provides visibility of “actuals” via a neat, graphical representation of current and past production activities, and is a convenient extension of the existing data interrogation tools.
Stay tuned for more information on an upcoming release of InSite.
