Newest Version of Gemcom Surpac Provides Innovative Solids Repair

The latest version of Gemcom Surpac™ geology and mine planning software was released earlier this week, bringing significant enhancements and new functionality.

Surpac 6.3 greatly increases efficiency for users by providing enhancements in the areas of solids validation, pit design, block modelling, efficient CAD import, and support of third party file formats.

The innovative solids repair functionality is one of the key features of the release. Feedback from Surpac users said that they valued the way Surpac is strict in solids and surface validation, but they wanted a tool to identify, visualise and fix problem areas within solids, particularly when obtaining from third party packages. The result is new functionality that substantially exceeds user requests, reducing manual solids validation time from days to minutes. New auto correction repairs invalid solids with one mouse click, while manual solids repair allows for more detailed examination.

Surpac 6.3 also provides developments to improve speed and save time. Distance estimation is up to 100 times faster, and there is a 15% performance increase in all block modelling estimation techniques.
