How to Obtain a GEMS Local License

The self-service licensing feature is available for GEOVIA GEMS. Self-service licensing permits you to download license from the GEOVIA support website. To use self-service licensing, you need a GEOVIA dongle and a Dassault Systèmes Passport account.

If you do not have a DS Passport account, you can create one by contacting your local GEOVIA office or by emailing GEOVIA.Support@3ds.com. Please note if you are launching GEMS for the first time, you will get a Licence Request window popup. However, if GEMS has been launched before please go to File > Switch Seat > New Licence option from within the GEMS application.

1. When you see the GEMS activation window pop up, follow the steps in the screenshots below:

2. Once you click OK, your web browser will open at the GEOVIA License Download site login page. Enter your DS Passport username and password and click Log in.

3. if your details are entered correctly, you will see “License Creation Success”. Your licence file will be emailed to your inbox – GEMS 6.8 can now read .LICZ files without having to extract the license.xml from the zip file.
