The self-service licensing feature is available for GEOVIA Minex. Self-service licensing permits you to download a license from the GEOVIA support website. To use self-service licensing, you need a GEOVIA dongle and a DS Passport account.
If you do not have a DS Passport account, you can create one by contacting your local GEOVIA office or by emailing GEOVIA.Support@3ds.com.
If you’re launching Minex for the first time, you will see a Licence Request window pop up. However, if Minex has been launched before, when you are inside the application, you may go to File > Licencing option.
1. When you see the Licence Request window pop up, follow the steps in this screenshot:
2. Your web browser will open at the GEOVIA License Download site login page. In the web browser enter your DS Passport username and password and click “Log in”.
3. On the next page you will see a message “License Creation Success”. Your licence file will be emailed to your inbox.
4. The licence file comes as an attached zip file with .LICZ file extension where it should contain your license, and a PDF listing your license configuration. The .LICZ file can be opened with Winzip or renamed to .ZIP and extracted with any archiving tool
5. Save the license file ‘license.dat to the ‘etc’ folder: C:\Users\Public\GEOVIA\<minex shared files folder>\shared\etc\license folder. In Minex, select Local and click OK. The Update Licence Token form is displayed and is pre-filled with the token number, so click Validate and OK.
That’s it!
