Real-time data monitoring and cleanup using InSite’s Production Progress module

Production Progress is a powerful module in GEOVIA InSite™ that monitors the productivity of various shift-level resources such as equipment and employees on a Gantt chart in real-time!
In addition to overseeing operational progress, this module provides other functionality such as the ability to search for specific activity, perform data entry, and correct and delete data. These features can assist with cleanup of information that may have been incorrectly entered or incorrectly captured by source systems that feed InSite. Here are a few helpful tips on how to use them.
Searching for a shift’s activity
To view the activities for a past shift follow these steps:
1. Select the date in the top left
2. Select the shift
3. Click search
The Gantt chart will refresh with activities for that specific shift. Both the Employee tab and the Equipment tab can be filtered by selecting an alphabet option from the list organised vertically immediately  right of InSite’s main menu. Scroll the Gantt chart vertically until you find the desired activity.

Modifying an activity

Changing start time, end time and duration
Modifying the start time and end time, as well as duration, of an activity can be done in two ways:
1. Select an activity by clicking on it. Modify the start time and end time through the input dialog on the properties panel on the left.
2. Hover over an activity with the mouse and drag the start line or the end line of the activity to the correct position.

Modify the properties of an activity
Modifying the measure and measure points of an activity can be done by clicking on the activity and interacting with the panel on the right. You have access to the parameters of the activity event as well as measure and measure point details here.

Delete activity events
You can remove activities simply by hovering over the activity event in the Gantt chart, and clicking on the ‘x’ that appears on the right of the activity block.

Create an activity event
Activity events can be created simply by double clicking in an area in the Gantt chart that has no activity event. When an activity event is created, you can set its ‘Activity’ property, however after this point you cannot change this property. Use the techniques presented above to set the properties of this newly created activity event.
As you can see, the Production Progress module gives you full control over modification of activity events, making it very easy to correct data issues flowing from source systems.
