Today, mining operations are more often supporting conservation initiatives and planning for closure from the beginning, and virtual twins are modelling the scenarios that benefit all stakeholders.
Mining operations affect biodiversity at the site, landscape, regional and global scale through direct actions, such as mineral extraction and tailings generation and indirect actions, including the transportation and energy industries supporting mining operations.
