Solids Repair with GEMS

It’s Tip Tuesday! Today, we are looking into Solids Repair in our GEOVIA GEMS™ with a guest post from our GEMS Product Manager, Justin Meade.

The solids repair panel puts a range of tools at your fingertips in a single panel that enables faster error correction in order to validate your solids. This powerful functionality reduces the validation and correction times for erroneous solids from hours to minutes.

Some of the usability features included allow you to visualise problem areas easily in a solid using transparency, automate animation, and zoom and clip with the interactive dynamic slider.

The autocorrect function is the most exciting new feature of this panel. Once you have located invalid triangles, remove and fill the resultant hole(s) and fix more complex error groups by expanding the selection to neighbouring triangles – all with the press of one button.

To launch the solids repair panel, simply go to Solid > Edit > Repair.

By repeating this process or by running the repair button on all of the groups at once, in a matter of minutes, correct all errors and have a valid survey solid for the stope ready for further use in GEMS!
