It’s Tip Tuesday! Today’s post comes from Mariana Nobile, one of our Technical Customer Support Consultants.
For GEOVIA InSite™ users, the Data Rejects page allows you to view a list of rejected data entries from the Integration and InSite Data Entry desktop application, and the errors specific to those entries. You can then correct any errors and reprocess the activity rejects. When you reprocess an activity data reject, you can choose to bypass business validation rules at a Data Entry Group Activity level. Alternatively, you can choose to delete activity data rejects. Here are some helpful tips:
Prerequisites
- Grant a user, or role, access to the Activity Data Rejects menu item
- Grant a user access to view data reject records
- Grant a user Security objects relevant to Data Rejects
Tip: Object Name = ‘Data Rejects Override Validation’ enables you to bypass business validation rules when you click Reprocess for a reject. Click the check box when it pops up.
The Activity Data Rejects page
Source and Tag fields are used to identify unique data reject records so that only the most recent data rejects are displayed on the Activity Data Rejects page. If there are multiple rejects with the same Source and Tag fields, only the most recent reject is displayed. It should not be mapped to fields that can be changed when data is uploaded. Source and Tag fields are mapped on the Data Mapping Configuration page usually set up for Data Entry or Integration data that needs to be mapped to be interfaced into InSite.
When you access the Activity Data Rejects page from the Explorer or Search bars, data rejects are retrieved based on the Site and From and To dates you select on the page. However, when you access the Activity Data Rejects page from the Integration Monitor page, or from InSite Data Entry, data rejects are retrieved from the batchId, and the batchId is added to the URL for the page. All subsequent searches on the page use the selected site and dates to retrieve rejects.
To access the Activity Data Rejects page, follow these steps
1. On the Explorer bar, click Operational Data to open the Operational Data Module
2. On the Explorer bar, click Activity Data Rejects to open the Activity Data Rejects page. Tip: You can also access the Activity Data Rejects page in the following ways:
- In the Search bar (magnifying glass icon from InSite home page), type Activity Data Rejects, and then press ENTER.
- From Data Entry, on the Ribbon of the Data Entry tab, click Rejects.
- While viewing the Open Batches form in Data Entry. On the Batches tab, click View Rejects.
- While viewing the Integration Monitor page. At the bottom of the Adapter Run Logs area of the page, click the Rejected count.
