Everyone has to collectively find new ways to innovate to provide to people. The true value creation is in bringing people and society together.” He emphasized on the power of innovation and entrepreneurship and how the challenges in healthcare, energy, the environment can be addressed by innovation. He spoke about micro manufacturing which will be diverse where people will be able to experience the product through digital means before buying it. Governments from all over the world are introducing industry policies to accelerate the innovation process to create an ecosystem for education and entrepreneurship.
Commenting on future of industries he added Automation and IoT are just a mean, the future of the industry is people. The platform can be used as a business model by the businesses and the availability of platforms on the cloud will enable a massively simplified world.
Addressing the impact of Digitalization on the Aerospace & Defense industry in Bengaluru
Bengaluru being the aerospace & defense hub of India, the 3DEXPERIENCE Forum had insightful sessions on how the industry is transforming rapidly namely because of IoT, unarmed systems, hypersonic flights, reusable rocketry, and cobotics.
The keynote speaker for 3DEXPERIENCE Forum 2017 in Bengaluru was Gaurav Gupta, Principal Secretary to the Government, Department of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka. He in his address to the audience described a gamut of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and data management that are enabling the world to manage problems related to health and education. He mentioned that it was important to get ahead of the curve and build the future. Dassault Systèmes is an important partner for the Government of Karnataka and the Aerospace & Defense Center of Excellence will speed up of what industry wants with the academic curriculum.
Patrick Fardeau, Vice President – Aerospace & Defense Industry, Dassault Systèmes, elucidated upon startups who are entering into defense manufacturing. Cloud enables businesses to compete globally and manages their processes efficiently.
Dr. Akhilesh Jha, Senior Scientist, ADE-DRDO, indicated how in today’s aviation and defense industry, integrated Design Environment is the backbone of Aircraft Design and Development. Companies must ensure that collaboration through cloud computing and WAN is implemented. In the future, for Digital Mock Up collaboration, businesses must look into the use of behavior modeling, intensive use of technical economical and operational simulation and WAN-based engineering collaboration and cloud-based collaboration.
After the sessions of Aerospace & Defense sector, the stage was set to showcase Dassault Systèmes’ expertise in the domain of healthcare. In his talk, Dr. Ganesan Venkatasubramanian, Department of Psychiatry, NIMHANS, gave a glimpse of his ongoing research on using computational modeling and simulation to provide specific treatment to schizophrenia patients. Dr. Ganesan explained how simulation solutions from Dassault Systèmes can help identify the difference in peak responses from two different schizophrenia patients who exhibit similar symptoms and respond differently to similar treatment parameters. The extensive research work would provide insights into selecting the right treatment parameters for individual patients.
The Bengaluru edition of the 3DEXPERIENCE Forum 2017 ended with three parallel tracks on Aerospace & Defense, Transportation & Mobility and Academia and a tour of the 3DEXPERIENCE Playground.
