DASSAULT SYSTEMES ASSOCIATES WITH MAKER’S ASYLUM’S S.T.E.A.M. SCHOOL 2017 SEASON II

Dassault Systèmes announced an association with Maker’s Asylum’s for S.T.E.A.M. School 2017 Season II. Held under the umbrella of Bonjour India 2017-18, this Indo-French partnership programme will bring together 100 participants from India & France. S.T.E.A.M., the acronym for Science, Technology, Electronics, Art and Math, is gaining importance the world over as a new interdisciplinary learning tool. S.T.E.A.M.- the brainchild of a collaboration between CRI Paris and Maker’s Asylum has a special emphasis on Digital Prototyping. S.T.E.A.M. School has been devised to encourage participants to use design thinking to solve ‘global sustainability challenges with the local perspective.’ Participants will choose from select Urban Challenges driven by the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. These include good health and well-being, quality education, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, and sustainable cities and communities.

Based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals S.T.E.A.M is an initiative to encourage hands-on education and problem-solving The 10-day programme is being held at Maker’s Asylum, Mumbai, India between December 06 – 15, 2017. The event will see makers, designers, coders, and a host of participants from various disciplines, come together and work towards resolving some of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.Participants will work in teams with mentors and peers from the industry, academia, government and the scientific community. Projects and solutions created as part of S.T.E.A.M School Season 2 have the opportunity of being showcased at TECH 2017 Conference by UNESCO & MGIEP in Visakhapatnam on 16-18 December 2017. This conference is aimed at developing digital pedagogies for Building Peaceful and Sustainable Societies. Maker’s Asylum will also incubate and accelerate projects with its partners post the programme.
