Exploring the latest innovations and sharing best practices, last week leaders in the industry gathered at the Manufacturing in the Age of Experience conference, hosted by Dassault Systèmes in Shanghai, China, September 18 – 19, 2019.

According to one attendee, the event “gave everyone in the manufacturing industry a better idea of what might happen in the future and developing trends.”
Going beyond just theories, attendees saw practical examples and hands-on approaches to solving challenges facing manufacturing today. For example, in order to showcase the power of the entire 3DEXPERIENCE platform in action, there was an interactive learning exhibit, consisting of eight different workshops, which together revealed an end-to-end story of an automobile being manufactured. One attendee of the interactive workshops remarked, “It was quite inspiring to me to see all the systems work in the big picture together, which I haven’t seen in that manner before.”

Digital transformation and data analytics are key to the future of sustainable manufacturing. As one attendee said, “My company has a plan of building a smart factory by 2025 while also developing smart manufacturing. The event also inspired us in the integration of big data and data analysis. It helps us to optimize our strategy in the future.”
“It was a great learning for me,” said another attendee, “In terms of knowing about the digital transformation journey, and especially the integrated factory. But now, I get to see the integration of the real-time [data], as well as the virtual [model].”
