What happens in Vegas shouldn’t stay in Vegas according to Dean Marsh, North America managing director for Dassault Systèmes. On Day 2 of the 3DEXPERIENCE FORUM, we heard from new innovators disrupting traditional industries – advancing the future of mobility and inspiring the audience to think differently.
The Future of Mobility: Netflix of Cars
The mobility industry has been plagued by the same problems for decades, and traditional solutions aren’t cutting it. We heard from Olivier Bellin, head of operations for Canoo – a Los Angeles based company creating electric vehicles that are made for subscription, and according to Bellin these Ev’s will look nothing like what’s on the road today. With a range of planned vehicles including commuter, lifestyle and commercial models available for ride and delivery services, Canoo is setting out to change mobility for good.
The Future of Flight: Supersonic for Mainstream Travel
Josh Krall, co-founder and vice president, technology at Boom Supersonic took to the stage and discussed the company’s plans to make supersonic travel mainstream and affordable. In the 50 years since Concorde, the art and science of designing an airliner has been dramatically transformed — modern tools are enabling this new aerospace company to design, build, and fly at supersonic speeds. In a press release issued today, it was announced that Boom Supersonic will deploy the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to advance the design and development of its revolutionary Mach-2.2 airliner.

Nitesh Bansal, Senior VP and Global Head of Engineering Services, Infosys was next up on stage. Bansal says that manufacturing has reached an inflection point, and today’s organizations have the potential to realize the promise of Industry 4.0 by fostering a culture of domain- and technology-led innovations within and across enterprise functions. Always-on connectivity facilitates a digital thread integrating systems from research, product development, operations, customer engagement and after-sales service. However, according to Bansal, a majority of manufacturers are yet to morph into digital-first enterprises and therein, lies the opportunity to help them ‘navigate their next’ through best of breed solutions from Infosys and Dassault Systèmes to drive measurable business value.
Emmit Smith, Pro Football Hall of Fame Running Back, Businessman and Entrepreneur closed out the 3DEXPERIENCE FORUM, sharing his story of hard work and determination, the ability to manage change and the meaning of team.
