Picking up momentum from a similar event held earlier in the week in Boston, Dassault Systèmes brought the 3DEXPERIENCE Forum to San Francisco, a city known for being the country’s technology hub.
Hosted at the Terra Gallery, the forum started with an initial plenary session that headlined the same thought leaders from Boston, which featured Dassault Systèmes President & CEO Bernard Charlès, Managing Director of Dassault Systèmes North America and CEO of SIMULIA Scott Berkey, EVP, CSO Monica Menghini and VP, High Tech Industry Olivier Ribet. In addition, we were joined once more by guest speakers Matt Chapman from Microsoft, Enchanted Objects author David Rose and Crowd Companies founder Jeremiah Owyang.
New for San Francisco, Owyang hosted a panel discussion on the hot topic of Additive Manufacturing, commonly known as 3D printing The panel consisted of JoeBen Bevirt from Joby Aviation, Vlastimil Kunc from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and Melisa Orme from Morf3D. The panelists discussed the current uses and benefits of additive manufacturing in their respective companies, and the value additive manufacturing can bring to businesses in the future.
After the conclusion of the plenary session, guests were then invited to the 3DEXPERIENCE playground, where they had the opportunity to interact and network with experts from the aerospace & defense, energy, process & utilities, high-tech, and transportation & mobility industries. Customers like Solar Impulse, POSCO and Atmel Corporation were just some of the companies that were represented at the event. Furthermore, guests were also treated to demonstrations of a number of interactive 3D experiences, which featured the Living Heart, Fashion Lab, Solar Impulse and 3DEXPERIENCE City.
