1. April Edition –A Model Heart: Digital Simulation Takes on its Toughest Challenge

Alan S. Brown of Mechanical Engineering Magazine published a cover story about Dassault Systèmes’ Living Heart Project for the magazine’s April 2015 issue. The article covers the story of the Living Heart Project from the inspiration, collaborative process and all the way through to development – and the potential for FDA approval.

2. April 7thEmailing Emotions in the ‘Brain-Net’

Melissa Fassbender of Product Design & Development wrote a recap of SOLIDWORKS World 2015, in which she highlighted Michio Kaku’s keynote speech about how technology can alter the brain. One particularly interesting assertion by Kaku is that one day, all of our memories and sensations will be digitized and held in a central place – these memories will then be easy to access and relive; a concept Kaku feels will particularly benefit Alzheimer’s patients of the future.

3. April 16th –Designing for the Internet of Things

Product Design & Development reposted Cliff Medling’s interview with Rich Allen of SOLIDWORKS from the SOLIDWORKS blog, in which Rich described how automation processes have dramatically altered the design of industrial equipment and consumer goods. This short video interview shares how Internet of Things will be influencing the manufacturing industry – particularly purchasing and maintenance.

4. April 20th – Scott Berkey takes on New Role as North America Managing Director for Dassault Systèmes
