January 8 2016 – Fortune: Dassault Systèmes Uses HTC Vive to Replace CAVE Virtual Reality Tech

Dassault Systèmes has been working in virtual reality for 20 years. The company has specialized in Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE) systems, which are full-room spaces that bring virtual worlds to life via projectors and 3D glasses. For example, Disney Imagineering uses CAVE systems to build attractions. At CES, Dassault Systèmes is using the HTC Vive to demonstrate a more affordable alternative to enterprise businesses.

January 8, 2016 – 3D Printing Industry: Dassault Systèmes Unites Mixed Reality at CES 2016

At this year’s CES, Dassault Systèmes demonstrated that the coming wave of virtual reality headsets might lower the barriers for using VR in businesses, using an HTC Vive to combine the benefits of large-scale CAVE systems and head-mounted displays at a low cost.

January 21, 2016 – Business Insider: Singapore will soon have a ‘virtual twin city’ that reflects everything in the real world

Dassault Systèmes is currently working with the Prime Minister’s Office in Singapore to develop Virtual Singapore, which incorporates all sorts of data — including climate, demographics, energy consumption, building elevation, and even the location of trees —to create a virtual version of the urban area that can be used to figure out the impact of everything from an influx of wind energy to better disaster management planning.
