July 10- Immersive 3D Visualization with Passenger Experience
Engineering.com recently covered the announcement of our “Passenger Experience” industry solution. Kyle Maxey highlights the fact that airlines are looking to modernize their aircrafts and that the most important aspect of a plane, to passengers, is its interior. With “Passenger Experience,” aircraft manufacturing companies will be able to bring a new level of service to their customers by designing aircraft interiors they can customize more effectively. Maxey also points out that “Passenger Experience” will allow flight passengers to preview the cabins of different airlines, making purchasing decisions, based on their personal preferences and needs, easier.
July 23- Wichita State, Dassault Systèmes announce details on campus partnership
Roy Wenzl of the Wichita Eagle reported on our new partnership with Wichita State University to bring an innovation center to the university’s innovation campus. New details about the impact the center will have on the surrounding community has been released, including news that at least eight new full-time jobs will be created at WSU and several new student jobs. In addition, the center will help Wichita’s local industry by making advanced design tools available to the community. This story was also reported by the Wichita Business Journal, the Wichita State News and 3DPrint.com.
July 23- Dassault Systèmes Is Well Placed to Meet Sales Goal: CEO
Mark Deen of Bloomberg Business reported on Dassault Systèmes predicted sales goals. Chief Executive Bernard Charles spoke confidently about the company’s growth, stating that the company should easily meet our goals of doubling sales before the end of the decade. Deen quotes Charles, saying “We’re very well placed to meet that target…The acquisitions we are making aren’t about purchasing clients but adding technologies that are critical for the future.”
July 24- The Future of Cardiology in 3-D with the Living Heart Project
Scientific Computing published a blog piece written by our own Steve Levine, the mind behind our Living Heart Project. In his piece, Levine describes the power of the Living Heart Project and how it will allow cardiologists to better treat their patients. The project has unlimited potential to change how doctors share information, provide diagnosis and choose treatments for their patients. Levine explains how the project came together, as a crowd-sourced initiative involving a team of over 150 experts.
July 25- SOLIDWORKS Awards Licenses through New Entrepreneurship Program
Chris Leggett from 3DPrint.com reported on our new SOLIDWORKS for Entrepreneurs program, which was created to empower a new generation of entrepreneurs and startups. The program brings our SOLIDWORKS software to new businesses at an affordable price. They will receive their licenses for a $200 fee, 90 percent of which will support the Rwanda High School Girls Scholarship Program.
July 28- Dassault Systèmes, NIAR partner on advanced mfg. center
Aerospace Manufacturing and Design published an article discussing Wichita State University’s new 3DExperience Center, hosted by the National Institute for Aviation Research. Similar to the piece written by the Wichita Eagle, the article describes the center, which is expected to open by the end of 2016. The center will be open for university research, coursework, and available to those in the industry. Students at the school will have access to new engineered materials, multi-robotic Advanced Manufacturing, additive manufacturing, and more.
July 29- Solidworks for Entrepreneurs Program assists startups with affordable 3D design software
Jackie Dove from the Next Web also covered SOLIDWORKS for Entrepreneurs. She reported on the program, describing it as “designed to ease the way for cash-strapped hardware startups and incubators worldwide to more quickly complete their designs and bring their products to market.”
