Dassault Systèmes in the News – June Edition

It can be tough to keep up with all the great things that reporters and bloggers write about us, so check out these news highlights for Dassault Systèmes North America for June!

1) June 4th- How is the Internet of Things Different Than Machine-to-Machine?

CRN’s Meghan Ottolini wrote an article questioning the importance of “the Internet of Things” which was the focus of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas back in January. Ottolini quotes Dassault Systèmes’ Director Michael Munsey, who explains how IoT can make life better both on the personal side of life as well as the business side. To aid businesses he explains that Dassault Systèmes will use its technology to help create enhanced experiences for customers. The value of IoT isn’t raw data gathered from connected devices, it’s how businesses and consumers can use and interact with that data which makes the technology so valuable.

2) June 18th-Dassault Systèmes coming to WSU’s innovation Campus

Daniel McCoy of the Wichita Business Journal reported on the exciting announcement that Dassault Systèmes will be partnering with Wichita State University, providing the school with an on-campus 3D printing lab. Students at the school will be able to use it to bring their ideas to life by using the printer lab along with Dassault Systèmes’ CATIA software, and will use the center to develop advanced manufacturing materials, as well as products for the aviation industry. 3) June 18th Dassault Systèmes Takes Major Step in Improving Upon the 3D Printing of Aerospace Parts

June 18th was a big day for Dassault Systèmes leadership in the 3D printing revolution. Whitney Hipolite of 3DPrint reported Dassault Systèmes’ new partnership with Safran and how the two companies will work together to create a solution for the 3D-printing of aerospace engine parts. The article hails Dassault Systèmes as a company that is at the “forefront of advancing 3D printing technology.”

4) June 22nd- Daughter of Local Engineer Inspires 3D Heart Technology

Dr. Mallika Marshall of CBS Boston reported on Dassault Systèmes’ Living Heart project. She came to our Waltham, MA Headquarters to interview Steve Levine, the engineer behind the project. He spoke about his inspiration, his daughter Jesse who was born with a rare heart problem. Marshall also got to visit Dassault Systèmes’ CAVE and experience the Living Heart Project first hand, using the 3D technology to explore the inner workings of a heart.

5) June 23rd Dassault Systèmes3DVIA Make Allows Retailers to OfferCustom3D Printed Products with No Inventory

Scott J Grunewald of 3DPrint wrote about Dassault Systèmes’ new 3DVIA Make platform, announced this past month. The new 3D design and planning software allows businesses using it to provide the ultimate customizable experience to their customers. The article outlines 3DVIA Make’s features and various uses. Grunewald challenges readers to come to their own conclusion, asking them their thoughts on how the program might change how consumers buy products online.
