Megen Waugh, Dassault Systèmes’ Value Solutions Channel Marketing Director in North America, has been named one of The Channel Company’s 2015 CRN® Women of the Channel, an honor given to female executives who have excelled in the IT channel in North America.
The Women of the Channel are known for their promotion of the IT channel community. Their contributions and accomplishments are recognized by editors of CRN each year. Last year Susan Konzen PC Channel Marketing Director for North America was named to the list.
Megen has been leading the VS Channel Marketing efforts for the past year. During her time in the position, VS Marketing drove 105 percent of the Marketing Contributed Revenue Target they were given. In addition, the VS Sales Channel surpassed their targets for 2014.
Megen began her work with the North America Channel VARs in 2007. She continued with the position until 2010, when she was chosen to help create Dassault Systèmes’ Value Solutions Channel Marketing Director in North America Worldwide Marketing Program. Along with her team, Waugh helped to shape the company’s global VAR marketing program.
Her career has only continued to grow since then, along with North America’s VS VAR Channel.
“Today the VS VAR Channel in North America has grown from around 20 VARs in 2007 to over 80 VARs YTD, and I’ve been an active participant in the development of these VARs and that growth,” said Megen, in an interview done for CRN.
A passion for her work has helped Megen to succeed throughout her career. “Before you choose a career, pick something that you’re passionate about,” she advises young women who are looking thrive in their careers.
“I love the relationships that I get to build as a channel marketing manager, and the different marketing strategies we get to develop with each of our individual VARs,” she said about her own career.
When looking towards the future, Megen notes that Dassault Systèmes is beginning to shift its marketing strategy, using both inbound and outbound marketing activities to create more focused and sales-ready leads. “We want to provide high-margin opportunities to our partners,” Waugh said.
In addition to her marketing work, Megen is involved in Dassault Systèmes’ Worldwide Women’s Initiative (WIN Group). The group brings together women from across the company, encouraging them to learn from each other and inspire one another. Waugh helped to organize the group in the company’s Charlotte, NC office. She also works with female students from surrounding universities, bringing them into the office for job shadowing.
Dassault Systèmes is proud to see Waugh recognized for the dedication she shows, both inside and outside of the office. Hardworking employees, like her, are an invaluable asset to the company.
“Channel partners are critical to the growth of Dassault Systèmes in the region,” said Sara Larsen, VP of Marketing North America for Dassault Systèmes. “Megen has done an outstanding job in empowering our partners and giving them the marketing tools and support to grow their businesses. It’s great to see this leadership recognized and we congratulate her.”
