At the North America 3DEXPERIENCE Forum in Boston, the key theme repeated throughout the event was: “Dassault Systèmes is focused on moving beyond digitalization.” This theme is encapsulated within the “Industry Renaissance” vision presented by president and CEO Bernard Charles, as well as Managing Director North America Dean Marsh.
During the event, we got to see how the Industry Renaissance vision is being applied in real-life. Craig Platt, VP of Digital Technology at GE, shared how he created a new line of business with GE Current by opening the company’s infrastructure up to other suppliers who can build apps and services upon it. But to make that possible, Platt needed a platform. Platt’s key decision was how to manage his old PLM and data infrastructure software…continuing to run his hold software, or making the leap to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Platt chose the ‘Renaissance over the Dark Ages,’ and GE Current hasn’t looked back.
