As the digitization of products and shopping becomes more prevalent, retailers and consumer goods manufacturers are constantly competing to provide today’s consumers with a memorable and immersive shopping experience. The right retail shopping experience will do more than drive sales, it can create and nurture personal relationships with consumers and inspire brand loyalty. With the recent launch of “My Retail Theatre” on November 25th, Dassault Systèmes is introducing a new platform to help retailers craft the perfect in-store experience that will both delight their customers, and increase the effectiveness of in-store shelf space.
Based on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, “My Retail Theatre” allows shoppers to select, configure and personalize photo-realistic 3D images of products, either in a physical store using a tablet or smartphone, or online while browsing the retailers e-store. By using My Retail Theater, stores enable their shoppers to access to an expansive customization system that will allow them to modify their products’ colors, materials and textures and share them on social media. For brick-and-mortar stores, the platform enables retailers to display their full product assortment, which allows them to replace physical stock with 3D digital photo-realistic images without having to increase inventory or compromising on the quality of store displays. Furthermore, retailers can also gain insight into consumers’ tastes and trends and maximize their online engagement.
In addition, Dassault Systèmes’ “My Collection” also made recent headlines when it was adopted and deployed by Mammut, an international outdoor apparel and equipment store. Specifically tailored for consumer goods and retail companies, “My Collection” provides Mammut with a single and unified digital environment for its product innovation and product development business processes that connects internal and external stakeholders and improves visibility, flexibility and decision support for multiple and diverse product categories. With “My Collection,” Mammut’s product specifications and BOM data can be shared with suppliers earlier in the design process to effectively plan and manage costs and production times.
Dassault Systèmes recognizes the needs of retailers and their consumers and will continue to deliver new and creative solutions in the fast-paced consumer goods industry. To learn more about how we are shaping the future of apparel design and retail experiences, check out our FashionLab initiative.
