PACK EXPO 2017 Boxes-Up Innovation for the Consumer Goods Industry

Just around the corner from September 25-27, PACK EXPO Las Vegas brings more than 2,000 top-tier suppliers for the consumer packaged goods industry to meet-and-greet the estimated 30,000 attendees, focused on bringing their products to market faster and creating a brand experience that propels sales.

Packaging is the last thing a consumer sees and touches before making a purchase, and the in-store experience it creates will mean the difference between which product on the shelf gets sold. Consumers are increasingly looking to invest in brands that reflect their desire to live healthier lives.  Innovative packaging and brand sustainability efforts can play important roles in consumers’ purchase decisions.  New materials, lighter weight containers, recyclability, reusable packaging….these can all make an impact on sales if executed properly.

Equally important, a streamlined packing process can be a huge cost-savings and competitive advantage for companies that produce millions of units and rely on time-sensitive sales cycles for retail supply chains. Imagine reducing packaging material and weight just 5 percent for millions of units a year.  That company would realize purchasing savings on raw materials, shipping efficiencies, and even some improved fuel efficiency for vehicles transporting the goods.

Dassault Systèmes has been at the forefront of helping companies create innovative packaging solutions, and it’s been a big year for the industry. Earlier this year, we closed a deal with Procter & Gamble, which is using our 3DEXPERIENCE platform to help build brand equity and reduce the cost of packaging the more than 7 billion units it produces each year.  Global packaging leader WestRock continued to shine, using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to compress its packaging development timeline from 18 months to just 6 months by using 3D data from product design to manufacturing.

At PACK EXPO, Dassault Systèmes (booth #S-7191) will be showcasing our Perfect Package industry solution experience, which helps our customers design and virtually test their products and packaging before investing money into prototyping, and then helps manage the design and manufacturing process end-to-end.  Visitors can also try out an HTC VIVE VR headset to see a hyper-realistic retail environment, where manufacturers can see how their products will appear on shelves next to their competitors.

Dassault Systèmes is offering complimentary registration to its customers, prospects and retailers to attend PACK EXPO and it’s only available online pre-event up until September 24, so make sure to register before you hit the road to Las Vegas later this month.  Please use our Dassault Systèmes complimentary attendee registration code: 53N42 at: https://registration.experientevent.com/showPAC171/Default.aspx?source=PEI17
