Dassault Systèmes is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the 14th Annual American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) Workshop on PreK-12 Engineering Education taking place during the ASEE annual conference, June 24-27 in Columbus, Ohio. The ASEE PreK-12 workshop held on Saturday the 24th provides a full day of professional development for pre-college teachers with a focus on building the next generation of engineers.
Xavier Fouget, Senior Director of Global Academia programs for Dassault Systèmes will deliver the workshop’s keynote address with a focus on bringing 3D experiences and virtual learning to education.
In addition to his leadership in developing Dassault Systèmes’ academia programs, Fouget leads the company’s participation with universities involved in educational research projects funded by U.S. and European agencies on topics such as collaborative engineering, realistic use of 3D in MOOCs, and virtualization of textbooks and learning devices.
It has been a busy spring as Dassault Systèmes took significant steps to cement its leadership and support for STEM education with three recent initiatives in North America:
- The 3DEXPERIENCE Center at WSU opened on April 27th in Wichita, Kansas. Developed in partnership with Wichita State University’s National Institute of Aviation Research (NIAR) and as the cornerstone of WSU’s brand-new Innovation Campus – the 3DEXPERIENCE Center establishes an interconnected community of top researchers, corporations and laboratories to accelerate innovation while developing the next generation of aerospace engineers.
- The Dassault Systemes U.S. Foundation was announced in May – expanding on a global initiative launched in Europe in November 2015 as La Fondation Dassault Systèmes. The Dassault Systèmes U.S Foundation extends the scope of the its social action to the U.S., enabling the creation of new learning experiences and encouraging greater interest in science, math, engineering and technology disciplines among students.
- The 3DEXPERIENCE Lab located at Dassault Systemes North America headquarters outside of Boston, Mass. was launched in partnership with MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms as a maker-space connected to the global Fab Foundation network and an incubator for start-ups.
Dassault Systemes SOLIDWORKS Apps for Kids, a program giving young children the ability to play, capture and shape ideas and bring them to life with social sharing or 3D printing will also so be featured at ASEE.
