A new perspective on gender diversity

At Dassault Systèmes, a commitment to gender diversity continues to focus on sharing human-centric, inspirational stories of people from the 3DS community.

Today, we continue our series of blogs featuring the Women’s Initiative Network Conversations series about diversity at Dassault Systèmes.

WIN Conversations invites 3DS people to talk openly and informally about their beliefs, career experiences and their visions of gender diversity. The series launched on International Women’s Day 2021, and now for the first time, a male perspective is offered by Sudarshan Mogasale, CEO, Dassault Systèmes Solutions Lab, India. We also speak with Jane Jenkins, vice president, global customer online experience.

As companies more and more are talking about and taking steps to increase gender diversity,  changes are beginning to happen. With more than 20,000 employees representing 140 nationalities in 131 locations worldwide, Dassault Systèmes is committed to maintaining a diverse workforce and inclusive environment. Now assessment analysis is available that indicates that gender diversity is a game-changer for businesses worldwide. Consider these statistics:

For Jane Jenkins, the key to change is attracting and retaining talented women. “The big issue we need to solve is the retention of women employees. Dassault Systèmes does create the right environment, to encourage the women to reach the top, which is fantastic.”

During her career in finance and sales, she’s seen a gradual change from male-dominated business environments to seeing more inclusivity, and she’s learned from her earlier career experiences. “I suppose it’s made me certainly stronger and more resilient,” said Jayne. She offers advice to her female colleagues to support each other every step of the way. “Look after one another, and be confident in your abilities, and be resilient, because that’s very important. Be passionate too, and enjoy yourself.”

Sudarshan Mogasale, CEO Dassault Systèmes Solutions Lab, India, has been with Dassault Systemes for over 15 years. To him, diversity and inclusivity are key to his success.

“One simple rule I have is that I want to be surrounded by people who think differently from me. By doing this, you invite different kinds of questions and possibilities into your life. It is an enriching experience, and you yourself should represent inclusivity. It’s about identifying that spark in people, and then really giving them an opportunity.”
