Swiss-owned sanitary company Geberit has long been known for its “behind the wall” products, including cisterns and drainage systems. More recently, through a series of acquisitions, the company has expanded its value proposition to design and make ceramics. This allows it to deliver the reliable technology behind the wall alongside perfectly designed bathroom equipment.
A stunning example is the Geberit Olona floor-even shower tray. Winner of the iF Design Award, the shower tray’s refined and elegant design features soft shapes and a subtle drain surrounded by a thin chrome ring, which appears to float. It’s the epitome of Geberit’s motto “design meets function.”
Geberit implemented the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to bring innovative new designs like the Olona shower tray to life. Today, the company manages its ceramics design and engineering processes on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, enabling it to bring everyone together and standardize its ceramics product development approach.
“The decision to bring the ceramics business to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform was to harmonize our infrastructure in R&D and work in a collaborative manner with access to a single source of truth,” said Jürg Huber, head of Research and Development Applications Corporate Information Services at Geberit.
Geberit is rolling out the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in a phased manner, covering ceramics design and engineering, plant layout, mold tool and injection molding, engineering and development, tool making and prefabrication design.
