Drivers (and passengers) will soon relish in the luxury of ‘just getting to work’ without the burden of navigating through traffic or paying attention to the road. Future connected cars will ensure safe travel while affording the opportunity to relax, visit with other passengers or even work.

The safety parameters of autonomous driving are impossible to ignore. Worldwide, 1.24 million people die each year in road accidents and as many as 50 million are injured (WHO figures, 2013). Human error causes over 90 percent of these collisions.
