When you’ve been in business for as long as Texelis, you realize just how important it is to constantly adapt to meet your customers’ evolving needs.
With roots dating back to the 1930s, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of axles and powertrains for heavy-duty vehicles recently made the bold decision to broaden its strategy and develop entire mobility subsystems – the drive train from the engine to the wheel. It also expanded its scope of services to encompass the entire product lifecycle, including design, manufacturing, renovation and maintenance.
Widespread changes like this don’t happen overnight, of course. They require the company to not only build up expertise in new domains but embrace a different way of working.
“It’s not just a matter of supplying spare parts following a customer’s request, but of being able to manage the entire lifecycle of the vehicle, which requires greater competences,” said Christian Schmutz, digital and collaborative transformation director at Texelis.
To support its evolution, Texelis needed to modernize its production system and the management of all technical data. It chose the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to support its digital engineering and manufacturing processes and bring all product management activities within a single integrated environment.
Today, Texelis has more than 140 users on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and growing as it continues to pursue its digital transformation to achieve long-term success.
