In the past 15 years South by Southwest, or as it is commonly known SXSW, has grown into one of the most important events for new and innovative ideas, films and music. Held in Austin, Texas, the event has several festivals including SXSW Interactive which showcases new technologies and has been called “the Davos of Digital” by Forbes and “an indispensable gathering of the minds” by Time Magazine.
Last year Al Bunshaft teamed with Rus Gant from Harvard University to introduce the world of Giza3D during a session they called, “Digital Time Machines & the Future of Learning”.
This year we think it is the perfect place to show how Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE will change the world of stage, similar to how “green screen” revolutionized film.
“Mr. & Mrs. Dream,” which premiered recently in Paris, is the first to blend these disciplines on stage, creating a set that becomes a character in symbiosis with performers.
The proposed panel, “Virtual Unreality: Adding 3D to the Live Stage”, will be presented by Mehdi Tayoubi.
This year, selection of panels at SXSW is done by online voting. SXSW received approximately 3,000 proposals this year so getting selected is extremely competitive and they’re now asking for the public’s vote. Public voting ultimately accounts for 30% of the decision-making process. Voting will close on Friday, September 6 (11:59 PM CST).
