This holiday shopping season, consumers are looking for more than great deals. More than ever, they’re looking for the most sustainable brands when choosing where to spend their hard-earned money. A report by Deloitte found that almost half of holiday shoppers prefer to purchase from retailers that adopt sustainable practices, while almost two-thirds are willing to pay more for certified sustainable products.
This is good news for fashion brands that have already taken concerted steps across the supply chain to reduce their impact on the planet. Working with the most famous global fashion designers is AMF, which produces metal and non-metal accessories for garments, shoes and leather goods. The Italian company’s mission is to manufacture all its fashion accessories using sustainable methods.
“We pride ourselves on our forward-thinking production methods,” said Andrea Vittadini, COO of AMF. “We’ve invested substantially in being more sustainable across our business.”
Among its many initiatives, AMF is replacing the most polluting steps in its production processes with eco-friendly alternatives. For example, its galvanic plant in Bassano del Grappa, Italy reuses more than 97% of water in its closed-circuit system and purifies the air leaving its pipes. The company is also turning to industry-leading technology to achieve traceability across every aspect of the product lifecycle. It’s using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform on cloud to connect its product development processes, work even closer with its customers and help transform the fashion industry for the better.
