Pioneering naval 3D classification with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform

For shipowners and operators, safety and efficiency are of the utmost importance. Inefficient design and construction can result in high operating costs, increased fuel consumption, and a shorter operating life.

Bureau Veritas, global testing, inspection and certification company, partnered with Naval Group, European leader in naval industry, and Dassault Systèmes to develop the concept of 3D classification, marking a major step forward in the digital transformation of the marine industry.

The 3D classification process was developed with Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Using a single digital model – the shipyard’s own 3D model of a ship – to exchange information more efficiently, the 3D Classification process will enable digital continuity between the shipyard and the classification company, reducing the design review time and associated cost
