Swiss-made, premium household appliance innovation with 3DEXPERIENCE

Household appliances are designed to make our daily life easier – whether it is about cooking dinner or washing clothes. But the more features a product provides, the more complex product development and production gets.

Swiss household appliance manufacturer V-ZUG is known for its innovative products. The family-owned company continuously sets new standards by manufacturing high-quality household appliances combining design, function and aesthetics in the best way possible.  With a growing number of product variants due to customer and regulatory requirements, V-ZUG needed to manage its product development process in a single environment.

Being a Dassault Systèmes’ customer for over 25 years, it was a logical move for V-ZUG to transition to the 3DEXPERIENCE® platform. Requirements can now be tracked from the earliest stage of development through to production, facilitating the continued adoption of their high product quality standards.

In addition, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform promotes a fluid exchange of ideas since all parties involved can collaborate on the most up-to-date version of a product’s data. All product knowledge and history is centrally located on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and always available for re-use, saving precious time. By reengineering processes and digitizing the workflows, V-ZUG was able to reduce change management by half.

V-ZUG plans to expand its use of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform’s virtual simulation capabilities to make even deeper cuts in development costs and cycle time. Leveraging early product simulation to accurately define the product will significantly reduce the number of costly prototypes. V-ZUG is convinced that this consistent approach to development and better configuration management will improve efficiency as well as the diversity and quality of their products.
