GEOVIA and SIMULIA Webinar Series

Together with our sister brand GEOVIA, we will be hosting a series of webinars in 2018, the first two of which will focus on simulation and optimization.

GEOVIA has leveraged the expansive portfolio of software and technology within Dassault Systèmes to bring new features and functionality to our mining customers, and one of the ways we have done this is through SIMULIA.

SIMULIA, part of the Dassault Systèmes family, provides realistic simulation solutions that address a multitude of engineering challenges across industries such as industrial equipment, energy, process & utilities, natural resources, transportation & mobility and more. SIMULIA solutions enable you to accurately predict complex real-world behavior of large structures and equipment, perform linear and non-linear static/dynamic analysis, include effects due to thermal loads and corrosion/degradation, simulate vibrations, fracture, and failure, as well as study the interaction of fluids, gasses and structures.

We have explored real-world applications of SIMULIA Isight together with GEOVIA Surpac, MineSched and Whittle. SIMULIA Isight is a desktop solution for workflow automation, optimization and simulation. Geologists and mine planners can utilize this technology to validate block model estimates and production schedules.

Webinar #1: Optimizing a Tactical Schedule Through Simulation

The first webinar will talk about how to optimize a tactical schedule through simulation, specifically optimization by iteration, automation of workflows, varying inputs, tracking and optimizing for any number of inputs, visualizing and analyzing the results of thousands of schedules, and selecting the best option based on assessment of results and risks.

While a MineSched tactical schedule considers many mining and scheduling inputs, we can optimize the resulting schedule for any of these inputs with Isight (individually or in combination). Essentially, Isight turns MineSched into an optimizing scheduler.

Chawki Jreige, Senior Solution Consultant GEOVIA, Dassault Systèmes and MineSched expert, will deliver this live webinar. Based in Vancouver, Chawki is a Mining Engineer with significant experience in both open pit and underground mines, having previously worked at Vale’s Inco Copper Cliff North Mine.

Date: April 25, 2018

Time: 9 AM Vancouver time (PDT) | 10 AM Perth time (AWST) | 3 PM Paris time (CEST)

Location: This webinar will be held live on Go to Webinar (check your system requirements). Please join at the webinar time to attend.

Webinar #2: Advanced Simultaneous Optimization

Our second webinar will focus on GEOVIA Whittle and SIMULIA Isight to examine the benefits of rapid, multi-scenario analysis of a wide variety of potential options or future economic conditions on a mining project’s viability.

GEOVIA Whittle SIMO can be used to produce a better strategic schedule and extract greater value from the project, but the key to this added value is to simultaneously optimize the most critical components of the schedule: mining sequence, stockpiling strategy, and processing cut-off grade.

Join us for this webinar at the below times.

Date: June 7, 2018
